AN ISLAND OF CRAZY CHARM

The charm of traditional England and the sweetness of French life

Neither quite French, nor quite English the island of Guernsey took the best of each: the charm of traditional England and the sweetness of French living.

This island, where nothing is ever far away, is the ideal setting for a bike ride, or a hike along the cliffs where the paths lined with wildflowers, often unusual, lead to creeks apparently inaccessible.

Nature reserves, picturesque small harbours, sandy beaches and rocky coves stretch along the green island’s 160 kilometres of coastline. Lavender, exotic lilies and wild orchids perfume the island most of the year.

In Saint-Peter-Port, the capital, a visit to Hauteville House, the house of Victor Hugo is essential! Its extraordinary decor bears witness to the genius of the writer who spent fifteen years in exile in this house, built on the heights of the city.

Saint-Peter-Port, Victorian city and the most beautiful port capital of Europe, offers its alleys and museums, pubs and shops. Everyone can find their way between culture and the art of living.
