of the Naye terminal ferry
The Brittany Region, owner of the port of Saint-Malo, has decided to undertake a project to modernize the Naye ferry terminal, in order to maintain the attractiveness of its facilities, in a context of increasing the size of the vessels, both in terms of dimensions and carrying capacities.
The programm:
- Optimize site functionality by reorganizing dedicated spaces,
- Improve nautical access to develop vessel traffic by deepening and widening access and modernizing berths,
- Replace aging structures by improving the capacity of the outer port.
The studies will take place until the end of 2020, then 2021 will be dedicated to the appraisal of the Application for Administrative Authorization. The beginning of work is planned for the 4th quarter of 2022 and the expected completion date is estimated at the beginning of 2025.
The cost of the project is estimated at €110 million including taxes.

A major issue of the 2020/2029 concession, many reflections on fishing activities are underway. They concern both Cancale and Saint-Malo, infrastructure and services, as well as the organization of markets and the development of products.
The auction hall should be modernised and new services provided, thus giving back a place to fishing and ensuring a high level of quality of service.
