The Brittany Region, owner of the port of Saint-Malo, has decided to undertake a project to modernize the Naye ferry terminal, in order to maintain the attractiveness of its facilities, in a context of increasing the size of the vessels, both in terms of dimensions and carrying capacities.
The studies will take place until the end of 2020, then 2021 will be dedicated to the appraisal of the Application for Administrative Authorization. The beginning of work is planned for the 4th quarter of 2022 and the expected completion date is estimated at the beginning of 2025.
The cost of the project is estimated at €110 million including taxes.
Revitalize all the industrial and commercial activities of the port in order to strengthen the industrial character of the port of Saint-Malo.
Develop the fisheries sector. Invest massively in strategic equipments and achieve exemplary environmental management.
Improve the port’s integration into the city and the acceptability of its activities.
Federate initiatives and bring a breath of renewal.
A major issue of the 2020/2029 concession, many reflections on fishing activities are underway. They concern both Cancale and Saint-Malo, infrastructure and services, as well as the organization of markets and the development of products.
The auction hall should be modernised and new services provided, thus giving back a place to fishing and ensuring a high level of quality of service.
